Upon presenting him with the National Medal of Arts,
Bill Clinton explained, "His books have helped children
to explore and resolve their feelings of anger, boredom,
fear, frustration and jealousy."
"I've devoted my life to those other freaky kids who
lick, sniff, and carry on over their books before they even read them."
