This week 43 years ago, these guys were nearly killed
when an oxygen tank exploded on their way to the moon.
Using their lunar landing module to get home in, they survived
extreme cold, water shortage, carbon dioxide buildup and
risky, unplanned manoeuvring.
The mission was an 'successful failure'.
They failed to land on the moon,
but succeeded to make it home alive.
