Happy 74th !...

 ... to a guy who has a deep laugh that rattles windows.

Blowing his nose has the same effect.

His homework help would taper off to determined mumbling.
He taught me what work is.

Misted up just a little seeing me off to college.
Could put a football into geo-stationary orbit with one kick.

So many skills, I'll be lucky to remember (and pass along)
more than half of what he's shown me.
